NEET 2021 Exam Date Announced | Application Process to start soon

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) 2021 or NEET (UG) 2021 will be conducted on 1st August 2021 across various exam centers in India by the NTA or National Testing Agency. The official notification of the NEET 2021 will be released soon. The exam will be conducted in Offline - Pen Paper based mode. The online application process will begin shortly.

The NEET (UG) 2021 is going to be conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS Courses as per the relevant norms/guidelines/regulations notified by the concerned Regulatory Bodies. The Result of NEET (UG) - 2021 may be utilized by other Entities of Central/State Governments (including Indian Nursing Council/ Nursing Colleges/ Schools, JIPMER) for counselling/admission to relevant courses [including B.Sc. (Nursing) and B.Sc. (Life Sciences)] in accordance with their rules/norms/guidelines.

"The NEET (UG), 2021, is going to be conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS and BHMS courses as per the relevant norms, guidelines and regulations notified by the regulatory bodies concerned," the ministry of education's National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Friday.

"The exam will be conducted in 11 languages, including Hindi and English, through pen and paper mode on 1 August," the National Testing Agency said.

A bulletin containing detailed information regarding the test, syllabus, and eligibility criteria for age, reservation, categorization of seats, examination fee, cities of examination, state code will be available shortly when the submission of application form for NEET (UG) starts, it added.

NEET was conducted on 13 September amid strict precautions in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 13.66 lakh candidates appeared for NEET 2020. Out of that, 7,71,500 students have qualified for the exam. All protocols related to the covid-19 pandemic were followed.

NTA earlier announced that the syllabus of NEET will remain unchanged for the year 2021.

On March 2, 2021, Secretary, Higher Education, Amit Khare has said that the NEET 2021 exam pattern will have no changes, as reported by media portals. “Any changes in the exam with such short notice will be unfair to the candidates preparing for NEET-UG 2021 and any further delay in the entrance test will affect the next session,” Khare said.

On the basis of NEET 2021, admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 15 AIIMS, 2 JIPMER, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc & AH colleges will be granted. Out of total registrations, as many as 13.66 lakh registered candidates appeared in the NEET UG exam last year. Out of appeared candidates, only 7.71 lakh candidates qualified NEET 2020 paper.

The Application Form for the same will start soon as the NEET 2021 Official Notification is released by NTA. Along with the official notification all the information related to NEET 2021 is also made available by the NTA or National Testing Agency on the NEET 2021 official website: www.ntaneet.nic.in .

The following are the seats available under different quotas:

  1. All India Quota Seats
  2. State Government Quota Seats
  3. Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities
  4. State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental /Ayurveda /Siddha /Unani /Homeopathy Colleges or any Private University
  5. Central Pool Quota Seats
  6. All seats including NRI Quota as well as Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority / non-minority medical colleges shall also be filled on the basis of merit obtained in NEET(UG) – 2021.
  7. Indian Citizens/Overseas Citizens of India intending to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses from a foreign (Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani/Homeopathy) Institute need to qualify NEET 2021.
  8. The Counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats and all seats of Deemed Universities/Central Universities/Seats of ESIC & AFMC including Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, AIIMS & JIPMER will be conducted by the MCC/DGHS for Undergraduate Medical and Dental Courses.
  9. The counselling for admission to the seats under the control of other States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted as per the notifications issued separately by the authorities concerned.
  10. The result of NEET 2021 may be utilized by other entities of Central/State Governments for admission purpose in accordance with their rules.

The NEET Eligibility Criteria 2021 in detail are as follows

Age limit:

  • The candidate should have completed 17 years on or before 31st December 2021. The upper age limit will be 25 years.

Nationality:

  • Indian National/NRIs/PIO/OCI and foreign nationals all are eligible to apply.

Qualification:

  • The candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent from any recognized board.
  • Candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with minimum 50% marks.
  • For SC/ST marks relaxation is 40% and for PwD marks relaxation is 45%.
