  1. Selection Procedure

The candidates will be selected on the basis of overall performance in Aptitude Test (AT) and Personal Assessment (PA) {this may be a Personal Interview (PI) or a Video Based Assessment (VBA), which will be decided by the Admissions Committee in due course of time}. However, the Personal Assessment process (PI/ VBA) will be the same for all the candidates who get selected for the further selection process. Any candidate who fails to appear either in Aptitude Test and Personal Assessment or both shall not be considered for selection. The selection process is as follows:

Stage 1: The candidates satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria should submit their application online as described previously in sl. no. 2 i.e. Application procedure.

Stage 2: Based on the applications received, candidates satisfying minimum eligibility criteria will be called for the Aptitude Test (AT) to be conducted across 34 cities (tentatively) in the country i.e. Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh/ Mohali, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Meerut, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Roorkee, Siliguri, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Varanasi, and Visakhapatnam. However, IIM Indore reserves the right to change the cities/centers or cancel the center at any time if the situation so warrants.

The date of conducting AT is Monday, June 14, 2021 (evening shift i.e., 4:30 PM-6:30 PM). The pattern of AT will be as follows:

  1. There will be three sections in the Aptitude Test namely Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA), and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).
  2. Each question will carry 4 marks.
  3. There will be a negative marking of 1 negative mark for each wrong answer except the Quantitative Ability (SA) Section (these questions will not carry any negative marking).
  4. The AT will be structured as under

Section

Time duration for the section

QA (MCQ)

40 Minutes

QA (SA)

40 Minutes

VA (MCQ)

40 Minutes

  1. The candidate must answer the sections in a pre-specified order and this order will remain the same for all the candidates. The above table does not indicate the final order of sections.

Stage 3: In this stage, the eligible pool for Stage-4 {i.e. Personal Assessment (PA)} is created considering only the candidates having positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three sections of the Aptitude Test. The minimum cut-off mark in each section will be decided by the Admissions Committee. The minimum cut-off mark in each section will be based on the categories of applicants. Individual regret letters will not be sent to applicants who are rejected at this stage.

Stage 4: Sufficient number of candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Assessment (PA) from the eligible pool (refer Stage- 3) for each category (General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD) using the merit list generated based on Aptitude Test Score (ATS) as mentioned in Table-1:

IIM Indore also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of Personal Assessment, which will be decided by the Admissions Committee. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in any of the parameters will not be considered for the next stage of the selection process i.e. Stage-5.

Stage 5: Only those candidates satisfying the requirements mentioned in earlier stages will be considered for the final selection. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS) as mentioned in Table 2 and provisional admission offers will be made accordingly adhering to the Government of India reservation norms.
