ICAI begins CA Foundation Exams 2021 (Cycle 2) | Exams from January 21 to 28

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will begin Cycle 2 exams for the CA foundation on January 21, 23, 25, and 28. CA January exams 2021 are being held for candidates who missed the exams conducted in December or had chosen to opt-out due to COVID19. The November examinations were conducted from 21st November 2020 to 14th December 2020. The ICAI 2021 exam will be held in multiple exam centers across the country.

The ICAI exam, also known as CA exams, is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for aspirants of the Chartered Accountancy profession in India. For being certified as a Chartered Accountant, candidates have to qualify in all the levels of ICAI examinations.

ICAI CA January 2021 Exam Timings

The official notification states that there would be no change in the examination schedule in the event of any day of the examination schedule being declared a Public Holiday by the Central Government or any State Government / Local Holiday. For the safety of students, COVID-19 safety guidelines are being followed at the exam centers.

Candidates are supposed to download and print their Admit Cards. Here’s a step by step guide to download the CA January 2021 Admit Card:

STEP 1- Visit https://icaiexam.icai.org/ 

STEP 2 - Login using your Login ID(Registration Number) and password

STEP 3 - Click on the link in front of Admit Card

STEP 4 - The ICAI CA admit card 2021 will be displayed on your screen, download it for reference.

The eligibility criteria for CA Foundation Course are as follows:

Candidates who have passed Class 12^th or equivalent examination from Central or State Board of Education before the examination. Also, candidates who have registered with the Board of Studies on or before 30 June of the examination year and changed to CA Foundation Course with Board of Studies of ICAI on or before September 7 of the examination year.

Although one must note that to become a Chartered Accountant the student has to excel very much in subjects like Accountancy etc and should also have a good command of mathematics/statistics.

Exam Pattern for CA Foundation Course

For the CA Foundation course, there are 4 papers which are 3 hours long and 100 marks each. There is a negative marking scheme only in papers 3 and 4 where ¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates must score at least 40% marks in every paper and a minimum aggregate of 50% in all papers to pass the CA Foundation 2021 exam.
