CLAT 2022 & 2023 Exam Dates Announced

Common Law Admission Test 2022 (CLAT-2022) will be held on May 8 while CLAT-2023 will be held on December 18, 2022 and this will be the first time that CLATS of two different years will be held in the same year.

This was decided at the Annual Executive Committee and the General Body Meeting of the Consortium of National Law Universities held on Sunday at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad under the chairmanship of Prof. Faizan Mustafa. The Consortium further resolved to reduce the counselling fee from ₹ 50,000 to ₹ 30,000 for the general category candidates and ₹ 20,000 for ST, SC, OBC, BC, EWS, PWD and other reservation candidates.

In order to fully protect the privacy of candidates, the Consortium resolved to secure the consent of candidates prior to sharing any personal information with any University or any other third party.

The CLAT Exam Pattern 2022 also helps in the planning of preparation for the examination and successfully clearing the same.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2022: The CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2022 is necessary for students to read before doing registration for the examination.

The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfil a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands cancelled or void.

Students who are appearing or have passed class 12th or its equivalent in any subject stream (Science, Arts or Commerce) are eligible for CLAT if they fulfil all the other required eligibility criteria.

 

The CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2022 in detail are as follows: 

 

Age Limit

  • There is no age limit for CLAT 2022

Number of Attempts

  • Candidate can apply many times, there is no limit for no. of attempts

Minimum Marks Requirement

  • For General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories, candidate should have secured at least 45% in their 12th class.

 

  •  For SC/ST categories, candidate should have secured at least 40% in their 12th class.

 

Qualification

  • Any candidate who have passed 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized board in any year can apply for CLAT.

Tie Breaker for Same Marks

In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:

  • Higher marks in the component / section on legal aptitude in the CLAT 2022 exam;
  • Higher age;
  • Computerized draw of lots.
