PU CET 2021:  The PU CET 2021 or the Panjab University Common Entrance Test 2021 will be conducted by the Panjab University, Chandigarh for admissions into the B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS) and B. Pharmacy at Panjab University Campus, Chandigarh.

The PU CET 2021 (U.G.) will be conducted tentatively in the 2nd week of June, 2021 and the Application Form for the same will be available online tentatively from the 1st week of February, 2021.

The PU CET 2021 (U.G.) will be conducted offline and there will be four papers of 70 minutes duration each as follows: Paper I- Mathematics, Paper II- Chemistry, Paper III- Physics and Paper IV- Biology. Each Paper will have 60 questions each and the examination paper will be only in the English Language.

The candidate will be required to choose a suitable combination of subjects depending on his/her choice of the course(s) and subjects he/she has studied in 10 +2 or its equivalent examination. Combinations are PCB / PCM / M.

 

Note:

1. If a candidate appears in 4 subjects, his/her name will be included in the entire Merit List. For example, if a candidate appears in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, his/her name will be included in all the Merit Lists wherever he/she qualifies.

2. Candidates who is seeking admission in B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS)Mathematics only may appear in Mathematics only.

 

*Please Note: I.N.M.O. (Indian National Mathematical Olympiad) Awardees can join B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS)Department of Mathematics, without appearing in the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test and these seats are additional over and above the sanctioned seats.

PU CET Application Form 2021:  The PU CET Application Form 2021 will be available tentatively from the 1st week of February, 2021 on the PUTHAT 2021 official website: https://cetug.puchd.ac.in/ .

The Application Form will be available only in the online mode and will be available for Online Registration tentatively till the last week of March, 2021.

The Application Fee for PUTHAT 2021 will be as follows:

  • INR 2175 for General Category Candidates (PCB/PCM/M)
  • INR 1088 for SC/ST/PWD Candidates (PCB/PCM/M)
  • INR 300 for Additional Paper (Biology, Math)

 

The PU CET Application Form 2021 can be filled online by following these steps:

  1. Register Online.
  2. Note down your Login Id and Password.
  3. Download SBI Slip and pay fee in any SBI branch of India.
  4. Login and upload scanned photograph, signature, fill other important information and Save and Confirm.
  5. Download your Admit Card.

NOTE:

If more than 24 hours have passed after depositing the fee in the bank and your journal number is not confirmed, write to [email protected] with a scanned copy of the bank slip.

Candidates who will avail of the concession in fee under the category SC/ST/PwD OR P.U. Class B/C Regular Employee must send the copy of the printout of their filled form along with the self-attested copy of Category Certificate/Proforma for claiming 50% concession to P.U. Regular Employees ("B" and "C" Class) duly signed by the Head/Chairperson, to Assistant Registrar, CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014 by registered post/speed post or by hand.

Eligibility

PU CET Eligibility Criteria 2021: The PU CET Eligibility Criteria 2021 is necessary for students to read before doing registration for the examination.

The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfill a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands cancelled or void.

 

The PU CET Eligibility Criteria 2021 in detail are as follows: 

Age Limit:

  1. Candidate should not be less than 17 years as on 31 December, 2021.

Qualification:

  1. Candidate must have passed or appeared in class 12th of central board of secondary education, New Delhi or its equivalent from any recognized board.

Note: The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are ineligible to appear in the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognized by Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Nationality:

  1. Candidate must be an Indian.
  2. NRI’s can apply via NRI quota.

PU CET Admit Card 2021:  The PU CET Admit Card 2021 or PU CET Hall Ticket 2021 will be available for download tentatively in the 3rd or 4th  week of May, 2021 on the official website of PU CET: www.cetug.puchd.ac.in .

To Download the PU CET Admit Card 2021 by following below mentioned steps:

  • Go to the official website i.e., www.cetug.puchd.ac.in
  • Click on Login.
  • Enter the Login ID and Password.
  • Admit Card will be displayed on the screen and check all the details.
  • Download and Print PU CET Admit Card 2021.

 

The Admit Card is an important document and must be carefully kept by the candidates as it is necessary to produce at the Exam centre while appearing for the Entrance Examination and without the same the Candidate is not allowed to enter the exam hall to appear for the entrance examination.

 

The Admit Card usually contains the details of the Exam Centre, Personal Details of the Candidate like Name and Date of Birth and other important information including the Instructions.

 

PU CET Result 2021: The PU CET Result 2021 will be published online on the PU CET official website: www.cetug.puchd.ac.in .

To check the PU CET Entrance Test Result 2021 by following the below mentioned steps:

  • Go to the above-mentioned official website.
  • Click on the Result link.
  • Enter Login ID and Password.
  • Result will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download and Print the PU CET Result 2021 for further references.

 

The University will publish PU CET (UG) result showing the list of “Qualified” and “Not Qualified” candidates for the following combinations of subjects: -

  • Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Mathematics only.

Cut-Off:

  • The cut off percentage is 15% of the total marks
  • If candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Backward Classes / PwD candidates, this requirement will be a minimum attainment of 10% (cut off) of total marks.

 

Admissions to various courses shall be made on the basis of merit only.

The PU CET Percentile Score of the two streams will be evaluated independently. The final Merit List for the admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS)will be prepared by adding:

  • CET percentile score with 75% weightage
  • 10+2 or its equivalent examination marks with 25% weightage
  • The candidate qualified 10+2 or its equivalent class with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects, larger of the mark of two subject combinations will be taken.
  • Over and above weightage of NCC, NSS, etc. in terms of marks in the Qualifying Examination.

Admission Counselling

PU CET Counselling Procedure 2021:  The PU CET Counselling Procedure 2021 or the PU CET (UG) Admission Procedure 2021 will be conducted based on the Merit Lists prepared for the various courses based on the Marks obtained in PU CET 2021 (U.G.) and the 10 +2 or its equivalent marks.

 

The Merit List will be prepared as follows for the various courses:

  1. If a candidate appears in 4 subjects, his/her name will be included in the entire Merit List. For example, if a candidate appears in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, his/her name will be included in all the Merit Lists wherever he/she qualifies.
  2. Candidates who is seeking admission in B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS)Mathematics only may appear in Mathematics only.

 

The Procedure for preparing the various Merit Lists will be as follows:

Criteria For Preparation of Merit list For Admissions to B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS)& B. Pharmacy Courses Under the Frame Work of Hons. School System at Panjab University:

For the B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS)and B. Pharmacy admissions, the final merit will be prepared on the basis of merit consisting of three components

  1. CET merit with weightage 75 %,
  2. 10+2 or its equivalent examination merit with weightage 25 %, and
  3. Over and above weightage of NCC, NSS, etc.

For preparing the combined merit of CET for the two streams of students with (i) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combination and (ii) Physics, Chemistry and Biology combination, the two streams will be evaluated independently.

 

The final merit list for the admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) under the framework of Honours School System (CBCS)will be prepared by adding

  1. CET percentile score with 75 % weightage, 
  2. 10+2 or its equivalent examination marks with 25 % weightage, and
  3. over and above weightage of NCC, NSS, etc. in terms of marks.

 

The Provisional Merit List will be declared for each category based upon the above calculations and the objections raised in the tentative merit list are cleared. The Admissions into the B.Pharm Course and the various B.Sc. and BSc. (Hons.) courses in the different departments will be done based on the provisional merit lists for each of these courses.

The admissions will be completed once the students selected in the provisional merit list for each course deposit the Admission fee and complete all the required documentation and the relevant formalities.

After the PU CET Counselling Procedure 2021 or the PU CET (U.G.) Admission Process 2021 is completed and the admissions for the B.Pharm and the various BSc. and BSc. (Hons) courses will be completed the classes for the new session of the first year will start as per their respective schedule.
