MET 2022: Phase 2 and 3 Application Ended| Exam on June 9 to 11

MET 2022:  The Manipal Entrance Test 2022 or MET 2022 will be conducted for admissions in the Manipal University for the following courses offered at the different institutes of MAHE or Manipal Academy of Higher Education:

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) will conduct the MET 2021 or Manipal Entrance Test 2021 for admissions into the BPharm, BTech courses, BBA and BA (Media & Communication) offered by its different colleges along with various other UG and PG courses. The Examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test for which the candidates can book their slots for giving the test via an Online Test Booking System or OTBS.

The Candidates can give two attempts at MET 2021, students attempting MET 2021 twice will have their score considered for admissions which is the best among the two attempts.

The MET 2021 will be a 2 hours duration test consisting of Multiple Choice Questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English & Numerical Answer Type for BTech or Engineering while the BPharm or Pharmacy candidates can either opt for Mathematics or Biology as one of the sections while the other sections remain common.

The BPharm aspiring candidates will take admissions into the Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences or MCOPS, Manipal whereas the BTech or Engineering aspiring candidates will take admissions in Manipal Institute of Technology or MIT, Manipal also in addition they can also take admission in the Manipal University, Jaipur and Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology through their MET Score.

MET Application Form 2021:  The MET Application Form 2021 will be available online for registration on the MAHE or previously known as Manipal University official website: www.manipal.edu . The Manipal Academy of Higher Education or MAHE online Application Form is available up to 31st March for Phase 1 and Phase 2 registration form will start from 11th April to 25th May 2021.

The MET Application Form 2021 will include the following:

  • Registration
  • Selecting Course/Courses for Admissions
  • Filling the Application Form
  • Payment of Application and Entrance Test Fee.
  • Uploading Documents etc.
  • Submitting the Application Form.

 

The MET Application Form 2021 is available on the MAHE Official Website: www.manipal.edu .Candidate can fill the application aorm is available online the candidates can start their registration and start submitting the Application Form.

 

The MET Application Form 2021 can be registered online by following these steps:

  • Registration - Candidates will have to first register online on the official website of MAHE: www.manipal.edu . During registration, candidates will be required to provide basic details such as

Candidates will be sent an email regarding the registration. All the registered candidates will have to use their email ID and password for all the further steps for the Entrance Test like Admit Card, Slot Booking etc. They will be sent an email containing the information of their registration. Candidates will have to use this email ID and Password for all subsequent login for filling the MET application form 2021, slot booking and other events.

 

  • Filling of MET 2021 Application Form – After registration, candidates have to fill the following details in the online application form:

  • Image specifications:

Photograph - Dimension - 4.5 x 3.5 cm and JPEG format with a maximum 300 KB size

  • Course Selection - In this step, candidates have to submit class 12 examination details at this stage. Candidates have to make the selection of course as per their qualifying degree. Details that need to be submitted are:

  • Payment of Application Fees - Below is the application fee for general and NRI/Foreign candidates:

  • Uploading Documents - In this step, candidates have to upload their qualifying examination documents. The size of the document should be 1 MB size and every document which has to be uploaded must be in jpg format.
  • Submission of Application Form - The final step is the submission of the completed application form. All the candidates have to submit the online application form within the given timeline and take a printout of the application form for further admission process.

MET Eligibility Criteria 2021: The MET Eligibility Criteria 2021 is necessary for students to read before doing registration for the examination.

The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfil a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands cancelled or void.

Students must go through the Participating Colleges and their seat distribution before filling up their choices for admissions in the counselling procedure. The candidate has a clear idea about the chances of getting admissions through this entrance examination after reading about the participating colleges in detail.

The Participating Colleges in any Entrance Exam also reflect the importance of that examination in a great manner as more important the participating colleges in an examination the more important that entrance examination becomes.

So, students must go through the Participating Colleges while applying for any entrance examination and do a thorough research about the quality of those participating colleges in the entrance examination.

 

MET Admit Card 2021: In this, Student will get the admit card after completion of Online Test Booking System (OTBS) process.

 

MET Online Test Booking System (OTBS) 2021: The Online Test Booking System (OTBS) will be available to start booking the test slot tentatively from 3rd June to 6th June 2021 of Phase 2 on the official website of MET: www.manipalotbs.com

Candidate can book a test seat from the above website by following these steps:

  1. Enter your MAHE Application number
  2. Enter the OTBS Password received on your registered Mobile number and email id.
  3. Enter the captcha code
  4. Click the “Login” button
  5. After Logging in, Select the Checkbox and click on “Book a Seat”
  6. Select Test Location 
  7. Select your preferred Date / Date range of examinations. 
  • Date range selected should be within 4 days. Example 01 Aug 2021 to 04 Aug 2021. 
  1. Select “Place of Exam” from the dropdown. 
  • On selection, no. of vacant seats on each day / slot will be displayed.
  1. After deciding on Day & Slot, click on “Book” to book the slot. 
  2.  Press “OK” to proceed.
  3.  Click “Confirm” to book the slot or “Cancel” to resume
  4.  After clicking “Confirm”, e-hall ticket is generated containing Test Date,                   Reporting time, Test time, Important instructions, Candidate photo and Signature.
  5.  Download the e-hall Ticket and take a print out.

After completion of this process student will get their admit card.

The Admit Card usually contains the details of the Test location, Test login time, Test start time, Personal Details of the Candidate like Application Number and Date of Birth and other important information including the Instructions to be followed by the candidate at the test location before, after and during the Entrance Examination.

 

MET Result 2021: The MET Result 2021 will be declared online on the Manipal University official website: www.results.manipal.edu .The Result will be declared online and can be viewed by the candidates in their personal Login of the MET 2021 through their Application Number and OTBS Password. Candidates must note that the scorecard of candidates will be released by the authorities before the MET Result 2021.

The MET Score Card 2021 will display the following details: Qualifying status, Marks Secured in MET 2021, and they're All India Ranks. The scorecard can be viewed by the candidate in their MET 2021 Login.

The MET Result 2021 will be declared in the form of a Merit List or Rank List of candidates showing the opening and closing ranks of candidates for admissions. The candidates shortlisted on the basis of MET Result 2021 will be eligible for the MET Counselling Procedure 2021 and Seat Allotment.

Based on the rank obtained by the candidate, MET Counselling Procedure 2021 will start for the different courses offered by the MET Participating Colleges 2021.

Admission Counselling

MET Counselling and Seat Allotment 2021:  The MET Counselling and Seat Allotment 2021 procedure will start after the MET Result 2021 is declared. The candidates shortlisted on the basis of MET Result 2021 will be eligible to participate in this MET Counselling and Seat Allotment 2021 procedure.

The Shortlisted Eligible Candidates through MET Result 2021 need to complete the MET Online Counselling Process for their admissions in their desired course of BTech and BPharm respectively.

 

For MET Common Counseling for Engineering:

Counselling will involve 10 rounds as follows:

· Round 1 to 8 (Online rounds): Online Registration is permitted at the beginning of each round. After registration, candidates are required to do the choice filling. Seats will be allotted as per MET 2021 rank, availability of vacancy and choice.

· Round 9 (Intra Institute round) applicable for those candidates who have taken admission and have started attending the classes in the respective Institutes.

· Round 10 (Spot round) applicable for Candidates who have not taken admission in any of the 3 campuses.

 

The MET Counselling and Seat Allotment 2021 process in detail is as follows:

 

There will be 8 rounds of counselling. All rounds will be Online. Depending on vacancy (if any), an additional round of counselling may be conducted before / after the Spot round

  • Registration: Candidates will have to confirm their participation in the    Counselling process by logging into https://counseling.manipal.edu  with Application number as login ID and OTBS password as password and update the Candidate profile detail, Marks obtained in Mathematics, Physics, English and any one of optional subjects to be entered online (if not submitted).

 

Waitlist Deposit (Rs. 10,000) is to be paid online during the Registration process for the Counselling. Having made the payment, candidates will be eligible to participate in the Online Counseling process. On Seat confirmation, Rs. 10,000 will be adjusted towards refundable caution deposit / Course fee.

 

  • Fresh Registration is allowed at the beginning of each round (except for Intra Institute round)
  • On seat allotment, if the first year Course Fee (1st Installment i.e. Rs. 1,65,000) is NOT paid before the deadline specified for that round, candidate is out of the counselling process and will also forfeit the waitlist deposit of Rs. 10,000.
  • Mere registration for the counseling does not guarantee the allotment of Seat. This will exclusively depend on the candidates all India rank, the number of candidates registering for the counseling, their choice of course / institution and the number of seats available.

 

  • Choice Filling:

 

  • After making payment of Rs. 10,000, the candidate can fill in as many choices as possible from the list as per preference and must click on SAVE button to save the changes.
  • Please Number the Institute + Branch combination as per your priority. Most preferred Institute + Branch to be numbered as Preference 1, then Preference 2, Preference 3 and so on ......
    • Preference 1 is mandatory
    • Preference 2 – 3 4 are optional. Hence, you may give Preferences 2 – 3 4 only if you are interested For Example, if your most preferred Branch is Mechanical at MIT Manipal, please number it as “1”. If your second preference is Mechanical at MU Jaipur, please number it as “2”. If your third preference is Electrical at SMIT Sikkim, please number it as “3”and so on.
  • Candidates are advised to fill in the choices (institutes and branches) of their interest only

 

  • Seat Allotment: The Seat will be allotted as per MET 2021 Rank and subject to seat availability.

 

  • On seat allotment, if the first year Course Fee (1 st Installment i.e. Rs. 1,65,000) is NOT paid before the deadline specified for that round, candidate is out of the counseling process and will also forfeit the waitlist deposit of Rs. 10,000.
  • Fee Payment: On seat allotment, first year fee is to be paid within the stipulated timeline. To ease the burden of payment, MAHE Manipal has decided to allow part payment of the fees. The 1st year fee payment of Rs. 3,25,000 is split into 2 components: Part Payment of Rs. 1,65,000 + Balance Payment of Rs. 1,60,000

 

  • Course Fee (1st Installment) of Rs. 1,65,000:
    • On Seat Allotment the candidates are required to pay Rs.1,65,000 before the last date specified for payment for each round
    • On completion of part payment, the allotted seat is confirmed and the candidate will be able to download the provisional admission order from the counseling portal
    • On confirmation of admission, the allotted candidate becomes a provisionally admitted candidate.

 

  • Balance Course Fee (2nd Installment) of Rs. 1,60,000:
    • Having made the part payment of Rs. 1,65,000, the candidate is expected to make the balance fee payment of Rs. 1,60,000 on or before the timeline
    • If the candidate does NOT complete the part payment process on or before the timeline mentioned in the Counselling Schedule, the confirmed seat is forfeited, the candidate will be out of the counselling process.
      • In such a scenario the fee will be deducted as per UGC Refund policy and the rest of the part payment will be refunded back to the candidate within 10 working days. Note: In case of any withdrawal (if any), the fee will be deducted as per UGC Refund policy.

 

  • Waitlist: The following candidates are eligible for the waitlist
    • Registered candidates who have taken a seat in any round and wish to participate in subsequent rounds of counseling (Provisionally admitted candidates) 
    • Registered candidates who have NOT been allotted any seat in the previous round. (Waitlisted candidates)

 

  • Waitlist Procedure:
    • The waitlisting process is online at https://counseling.manipal.edu .
    • Registered & waitlisted candidates can participate in all rounds of counseling except in Intra Institute round.
      • Registered candidates, who have not got the seat in the previous round(s), can opt for the waitlist.
      • In case the candidate is not allotted any seat in any rounds of counseling, the waitlist deposit will be refunded within 1 month of completion of all rounds of Counseling. For this, the candidates are required to update the Account details (Name of the account holder, A/c Number, Bank Name, Branch Address, and IFSC code) in the Counseling portal by the last date mentioned. The site is Safe and Secure
    • As per the Counselling Schedule, Candidates must log in to https://counseling.manipal.edu  with the Application number as login ID and OTBS password as the password.
      • The candidate can fill in as many choices as possible for waitlisting, from the list as per preference and must click on the UPDATE button.
      • Candidates are requested NOT to fill in the choices of branches/institutes in which they are NOT interested
    • If the candidate wants to participate in the subsequent round of counseling, he/she can log in to the candidate portal https://counseling.manipal.edu  and modify the choices, and click on the UPDATE button.
      • If a candidate does not modify his / her choices, then the choices given in the previous round will be considered for the next round of seat allotment until the sixth round of counseling.

 

  • However, if the candidate remains unallotted after the 8th round seat of allotment, the choices provided will become null and void on completion of 8 th round
    • He / She will NOT be eligible for intra-institute sliding round
    • He / She will be eligible for Spot round only
  • If the candidate forgets the password, click on “forgot password” to receive the password via SMS and e-mail

Seats will be allotted as per MET 2021 rank, availability of vacancy and choice.

All candidates MUST login to the portal https://counseling.manipal.edu  to check the Seat Allotment status as per Counselling schedule. Non receipt of SMS / Email confirmation will NOT be considered as a reason for non-payment of tuition fee within the specified deadline.

  • On Seat allotment:
    • If the Provisionally admitted candidate gets upgraded to a new branch in subsequent round(s),
      • The previously allotted branch will be canceled and the provisional admission order of the previous branch will be null & void
      • The candidate can download the new Provisional Admission order from the Counseling portal.
      • There is NO provision for the candidate to revert to the previously allotted branch.
      • If the candidate wishes to withdraw, they are required to complete the withdrawal process in the Counseling portal https://counseling.manipal.edu and the fee paid will be refunded as per refund policy. On withdrawal, the candidates will be out of the Counseling process and will now be considered as the Withdrawn candidate.

 

  • If the waitlisted candidate gets a seat allotment for the first time,
    • The candidate has to confirm/accept the seat by paying the first year Program Fee (1st Installment i.e. Rs. 1,65,000) via Online / RTGS within the deadline for that round (Transaction charges to be borne by the applicant).
    • On receipt of payment and confirmation by the University, the candidate can download the Provisional Admission order from the Counselling portal. The waitlisted candidates will now be considered as Provisionally admitted candidates.
    • On seat allotment, if the first year Course Fee (1st Installment i.e. Rs. 1,65,000) is NOT paid before the deadline specified for that round, candidate is out of the counseling process and will also forfeit the waitlist deposit of Rs. 10,000. These candidates will now be considered as Exited candidates with forfeiture of waitlist deposit.
  • Withdrawn / Exited candidates with forfeiture of waitlist deposit

On rejection of allotted seat (by Provisionally Admitted / Waitlisted candidates), Re-entry is possible in any of the subsequent rounds (except in the Intra Institute) as new registrants by paying a waitlist deposit of Rs. 10,000 online

  • After successful payment of the wait-list deposit, the candidates will be permitted to fill in the choices.

 

  • Provisional Admission Order:

 

  • The candidate can download the Provisional Admission orders from the Counseling portal if / when the seat gets upgraded for provisionally admitted candidates OR on receipt of payment and confirmation by the University for freshly allotted candidates.
  • Intra-Institute Sliding
  • After Eight (08) rounds of counseling, if a vacancy exists, the intra-institute sliding will be conducted in the respective Institutes, only for those candidates who have joined the institute and have started attending the classes.
  • In intra-institute sliding, the up-gradation is possible only within the institute and is NO possibility of movement across the campus.
  • The Intra-Institute Sliding process will be communicated to you by the Admissions office of the respective Institutes.
  • Interested candidates MUST register for intra-institute sliding at the respective institute, submit a fresh set of Choices and confirm by locking the same.
  • The seat will be allotted to the candidates as per MET 2021 rank, vacancy, and choice
  • Information about the branch upgradation (if any) will be updated under https://counseling.manipal.edu  

 

  • Spot round:
    • The vacant seat (if any) after the intra-institute sliding will be filled in the spot round as per MET 2021 Rank. The following candidates are eligible for spot round
      • Unregistered candidates in any of the previous rounds of counseling.
      • Registered candidates who have not got any seat in the previous rounds of counseling.
      • Registered and allotted candidates who did not pay the course fees after seat allotment in any of the previous rounds 
      • Admitted candidates who have withdrawn subsequently
      • Admitted candidates (these candidates have to vacate the seat before participating in the spot round)

All the candidates who wish to participate in the spot round should register online by paying Rs. 10,000 online. If a candidate is not allotted a seat, then the fee collected will be refunded.

Note: If there are any vacancies even after the spot round, those seats will be filled based on JEE (Main) rank / any state CET Rank.

  • Opt-Out of Counselling: Opt-Out is an important step for provisionally admitted candidates and un-allotted candidates
    • Provisionally Admitted Candidates:
      • If the Provisionally admitted candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted in any of the rounds and does not want to participate in the subsequent rounds, he/she has to opt-out of the counseling.
        • To opt-out, the candidate must log in to the candidates’ portal https://counseling.manipal.edu and click on the “OPT-OUT” button. On “OPT-OUT”, the allotted seat will be retained and the candidate will not be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of counseling

 

  • If the candidate does NOT opt-out, the choices provided will be considered for subsequent rounds for up-gradation as per the vacancy. If the seat is upgraded in the subsequent rounds, the candidate has to accept it and he/she has no choice of retaining the previously allotted seat. For example, a candidate has been upgraded to Electrical Engg, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) from previously provisionally admitted branch of Biomedical Engg at MIT Manipal, then the candidate has to accept the Electrical Engg branch at Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ).
  •  
  • Un Allotted Candidates:
  • If the candidate is not allotted any seat in any of the rounds and does not want to participate in the subsequent rounds, he/she has to opt-out of the counseling.
    • To opt-out, the candidate must log in to the candidates’ portal https://counseling.manipal.edu and click on the “OPT-OUT” button. On “OPT-OUT”, the candidate will NOT be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of counseling and the waitlist deposit of Rs. 10,000 will be refunded back to the candidate
    • If the candidate does NOT opt-out, the choices provided will be considered for subsequent rounds for allotment as per the vacancy. If the seat gets allotted in the subsequent rounds, the candidate will have to confirm the seat by paying the first year Program Fee on or before the deadline specified for that round. If the fee is not paid before the deadline specified, he/she will be out of the counseling process and will also forfeit the waitlist deposit of Rs. 10,000.

 

  • Withdrawal: Withdrawal is an important step for provisionally admitted candidates only

Before Class commencement (Candidates admitted in Round 1 – 8)

  • All withdrawal must be made through the Candidates portal https://counseling.manipal.edu  
    • The date of submission of the request will be considered as the date of withdrawal.
    • The refund will be processed as per the UGC refund policy.
    • Requests for withdrawal via email/telephone / SMS / WhatsApp will NOT be considered.

After Class commencement

· All withdrawal must be made through the application form available at the Academic Section of the respective Institute.

  • The date of receipt of the request will be considered as the date of withdrawal.
  • The refund will be processed as per the UGC refund policy. canceled; Candidate will be out of counseling temporarily and permitted to enter only in the Spot round on fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.

 

After the MET Counselling and Seat Allotment Process 2021 is completed the respective classes at the Institutes start for the new session and the course commences.
