GCET 2021:  The Goa Common Entrance Test or GCET will be conducted by The Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa for admissions to Professional Degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy, in the State of Goa, for the academic year 2021-22.

The Examination will be conducted tentatively in the 2nd week of June, 2021.

All candidates desirous of seeking admissions to Professional Degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy, in the colleges within the State of Goa (except GOI) during the academic session 2021-2022, must appear and have a valid score in GCET 2021, and should fulfil other eligibility criteria for admission. Merit list for these courses shall be based only on GCET 2021 score. Candidates seeking admissions only to Pharmacy Course need not appear in Mathematics subject in GCET 2021.

The GCET will be conducted as 3 separate Examinations of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of 2 hours each. The Candidates interested in Engineering must attempt all three while the candidates interested only in Pharmacy don’t need to attempt the Mathematics Subject paper.

GCET Application Form 2021:  The GCET Application Form 2021 will be available online tentatively from the 1st week of February, 2021.

 

The GCET Application Form 2021 can be filled successfully by following these steps:

  • Applicants shall download, print and submit application form for GCET 2021, at notified locations as per Centre opted, on specified dates, along with application fee of Rs. 2000/- to be remitted in the Account of “Directorate of Technical Education” with client code ‘DRCTORTEDU’ in any branch of HDFC Bank in the State of Goa, during a specified period, or any other approved mode of remittance as may be duly notified, along with three identical photographs as indicated, and other specified certificates (self-attested photocopies), and obtain the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee. Admit cards will be issued only to candidates in person. Outside Goa candidates sending Forms by Post can remit the application fee vide Demand Draft payable in the name of ‘Director of Technical Education’ at Panaji-Goa.
  • PHOTOGRAPH affixed on the form should be a recent one i.e. taken not earlier than 3 months prior to the date of application. 2 additional identical passport size photographs are to be enclosed with this form.
  • Write your NAME in CAPITAL LETTERS and DATE OF BIRTH as it appears in your Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) certificate.
  • ADDRESS must be complete, including the postal code.
  • TELEPHONE NUMBER must be given with area code in brackets.
  • SUBJECT CODE: Encircle codes of subjects you intend to attempt. Subject Codes are as follows: Physics-PY, Chemistry, CH, Mathematics- MA.
  • CENTRE CODE: Choose your Centre by writing the Centre code and name

Before filling the GCET Application Form 2021 the candidates must read carefully the GCET 2021 Prospectus to check various important details like Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern, Seat Distribution and Admission Procedure etc.

Eligibility

GCET ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2021: The GCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 is necessary for students to read before doing registration for the examination.

The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfill a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands cancelled or void.

 

The GCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 in detail are as follows: 

Age Limit:

  1. There is no age limit (minimum or maximum) for Engineering and Pharmacy.

Nationality:

  1. For to take admission in Goa State, candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  2. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport may apply for seats reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category.

Qualification:

  1. Student must have passed class 12th or equivalent from any recognized board, is deemed to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board.

Legal Residence:

  1. Candidate should be a resident from the State of Goa with minimum residence of 15 years.

Students must go through the Participating Colleges and their seat distribution before filling up their choices for admissions in the counselling procedure. The candidate has a clear idea about the chances of getting admissions through this entrance examination after reading about the participating colleges in detail.

The Participating Colleges in any Entrance Exam also reflect the importance of that examination in a great manner as more important the participating colleges in an examination the more important that entrance examination becomes.

So, students must go through the Participating Colleges while applying for any entrance examination and do a thorough research about the quality of those participating colleges in the entrance examination.

 

GCET Admit Card 2021:  The GCET Admit Card 2021 or GCET Hall Ticket 2021 will be available at the designated centre.

Steps to get the GCET Admit Card 2021:

  • Visit the centre of Directorate of Technical Education.
  • Submit the filled Application form and collect the Photo Admit card on the same day.
  • Check all the details
  • Keep the two, three photocopies of GCET Admit Card 2021.

 

The Admit Card is an important document and must be carefully kept by the candidates as it is necessary to produce at the Exam centre while appearing for the Entrance Examination and without the same the Candidate is not allowed to enter the exam hall to appear for the entrance examination.

 

The Admit Card usually contains the details of the Exam Centre, Personal Details of the Candidate like Name and Date of Birth and other important information including the Instructions to be followed by the candidate at the exam centre before, after and during the Entrance Examination.

 

 

GCET Result 2021: The GCET Result 2021 will be published online on the DTE Goa website: www.dte.goa.gov.in .

To check the GCET Result 2021 by follow the below mentioned steps:

  • Go to the above-mentioned official website.
  • Click on the Result.
  • Result Pdf will be displayed on the screen with the Roll Number and Individual Subject Marks.
  • Search your roll number then the score will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download and Print the Result for further processes.

Merit List Preparation:

Engineering:

The merit list shall be based on aggregate marks of GCET–2021 in the subjects of Physics and Mathematics.

  • In case the above marks of two or more applicants are equal, applicant with more marks in GCET-2021 Mathematics shall be placed higher in the merit list.
  • In case the marks in Mathematics are also equal, applicant with more marks in GCET-2021 Chemistry will be placed higher in the merit list.
  • In case the marks in GCET-2021 in Chemistry are also equal, applicant with more aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics at the qualifying examination class 12th will be placed higher in the merit list. In case of tie at this stage, applicant scoring more marks in Mathematics at the qualifying examination class 12th  will be placed higher in the merit list
  • If all the above are also equal, then the applicant with earlier date of birth will be placed higher in the order of merit.

 

Pharmacy:

The merit list shall be based on aggregate marks scored at GCET-2020 in the subjects of Physics and Chemistry.

  • In case the above marks of two or more applicants are equal, an applicant with more marks in GCET-2020 Chemistry shall be placed higher in the merit list.
  • In case the marks in GCET-2020 in Chemistry are also equal, an applicant with more aggregate marks in Physics and Chemistry at the qualifying examination class 12th will be placed higher in the merit list. In case of a tie at this stage, applicant scoring more marks in Chemistry at the qualifying examination class 12th  will be placed higher in the merit list.
  • If all the above are also equal, then the applicant with an earlier date of birth will be placed higher in the order of merit.

Admission Counselling

GCET Counselling Procedure 2021:  The GCET Counselling Procedure 2021 or the GCET Admission Procedure 2021 will begin after the declaration of the GCET Results 2021.

For all categories separate merit lists will be prepared and displayed as under:

Engineering: for all eligible candidates based on GCET 2021.

Pharmacy: for all eligible candidates based on GCET 2021.

 

The GCET Counselling Procedure 2021 will be conducted in detail as follows:

 

  • The Provisional merit lists of all professional courses and categories will be displayed on the Notice Board at the Admission Centre at Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim, Goa as per the time and date mentioned in the schedule of Admission and also will be made available on website.
  • All applicants should verify the correctness of their marks & merit position in the provisional merit list. In case of any detected errors, they should immediately (within 24 hours) inform the Chairman, Admission Committee, in writing, failing which, the Admission Committee shall not be held responsible for the consequences of such errors.
  • Merit lists will be displayed at the Admission Centre at Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim, Goa and on website as per the schedule given in the prospectus.
  • Every eligible candidate who is desirous of seeking admission shall remain present in person at the admission rounds at the Admission Centre at Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim, Goa as per specified schedule along with Acknowledgement Card, Documents in original & fees. Admitted Candidates permitted to withdraw submitted original documents for any purpose, shall have to submit the same to the Admission Committee before the subsequent round of admission. Chairman, Admission Committee may relax the above provision in genuine cases.
  • Applicants present/ reporting for admission will be given an opportunity to select a seat of choice from the seats available at the point of his/her order of merit (merit number). The admission shall be treated to have been completed only after the deposit of original documents and payment of fees. Applicants granted admission during any round shall report to the respective institution within 3 working days of grant of admission, and obtain acknowledgement thereof, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled, and/or they may not be permitted to attend further admission rounds.
  • If the applicant fails to turn up for admission rounds as specified in the admission schedule, or does not accept admission offered, he/she shall forfeit the claim of seat as per his/her turn in merit position for that round, and the seat will be offered to the next person in the merit list.
  • In case the applicant reports late for admission (during any round of admission) his/her candidature shall be considered only for the seats available, at that point of time. The list of applicants already admitted shall remain unchanged and under no circumstances, such candidate shall replace the candidates already admitted.
  • Seats remaining vacant, for whatsoever reasons, shall be filled up in the subsequent rounds, by following the same procedure as in the first round, and as per the given schedule. Candidates shall not approach for admissions in between the rounds.
  • Unclaimed/vacant seats if any, from the reserved categories shall be de-reserved and transferred to General Category at the end of admission of reserved category in each round. Claim of the applicants from reserved category, who remained absent during any round, shall not be accepted for such de-reserved seats. In case there are no eligible applicants in any Reserved Category, these seats shall be de-reserved and transferred to General Category at the beginning of the admission round.
  • (a) An applicant listed in the merit list shall be eligible for all rounds of admission, irrespective of whether he/she has attended / availed admission in the earlier rounds or not. If the candidate has taken admission and cancelled the same for whatsoever reasons, he/she shall forfeit his/her claim for that allotted seat (i.e course and institution) in same/ further rounds of admission.

(b) A candidate once admitted to a particular seat (i.e course and institution) under any category shall not be eligible to seek admission to the same seat (i.e. same course and same institution) again under same/ any other category (for applicants eligible for more than one category), in same / subsequent admission rounds, under vertical mobility.

(c) All eligible candidates from General Category Merit List shall be considered eligible for availing seats under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme, provided they submit an Income Certificate in specified format together with their application Form A stating that annual total income of their parents from all the sources is less than Rs. 8.00 Lakhs in the Year 2020-21. Candidates who fail to produce original Income Certificate during admission round shall NOT be considered for seats under AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme. All candidates are advised to exercise maximum care and caution while opting for seats during the admission rounds.

(d) All eligible candidates from General Category Merit List shall be considered eligible for availing seats under EWS, provided they submit an Income & Asset Certificate in specified format, stating that annual gross family income from all the sources is less than Rs. 8.00 Lakhs in the Year 2020-21, and that they fulfil other specified criteria as regards their Assets. Candidates who fail to produce original Income & Asset Certificate during admission round shall NOT be considered for EWS seats.

 

  • During Second, Third and any other subsequent round of admission (if any), vacancies created in a particular category/course during the round shall be filled in the same round. Candidates interested in applying for such vacancies shall remain present till the end of that admission round. Vacated Tuition Fee Waiver Seats shall be filled up from General Category Merit List during admission round and Tuition Fee Waiver shall be offered to eligible candidates, admitted in the order of merit, to the course.
  • The fees for admission to specific Institutions shall be accepted by approved mode of remittance, as may be duly notified.
  • All the applicants selected for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses shall be given provisional admission, subject to being found medically fit. The admission of the applicant stands cancelled in case he/she is found medically unfit.

 

Once the admission Procedure in the Engineering and Pharmacy courses through GCET 2021 is completed, the classes in the respective institutes will start as per their schedule.
