AILET 2022- Application Started- Exam Pattern Changed:

The All India Law Entrance Test 2022 or AILET 2022 will be conducted by the NTA or National Testing Agency for admissions into its 5-year Integrated B.A. LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. courses in Law on 1st May, 2022. The Application form for AILET 2022 has started from 17th January, 2022 and the last date to apply is 7th April, 2022.

This time there is a new exam pattern for AILET 2022 which students can chek below.

*Please Note: Right now, here we are only covering the 5-year Integrated B.A LLB course offered after the 12th or its equivalent.

The National Law University, Delhi or NLU, Delhi is the only National Law University in India that takes admissions into its Law courses through a separate Entrance Examination, rest all NLUs or National Law Universities take admissions via CLAT or Common Law Admission Test conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities.

The examination is conducted for admissions in the 123 seats offered in the National Law University, Delhi for its 5 years Integrated LLB course.

AILET Application Form 2022: The AILET Application Form 2022 or All India Law Entrance Test Application Form 2022 is available online on the official website of NLU Delhi (www.nludelhi.ac.in).from 17th January, 2022.

The Application Form will be available till 7th April, 2022. The examination will be conducted on 1st May 2022.

The Candidates can fill up the AILET Application Form 2022 on the official website with their personal and academic details and uploading the required documents and completing the online fee payment for the submission of AILET Application Form 2022.

Steps for filling the AILET Application Form 2022 are as follows:

Scanned Copy of Photograph (in .jpg,.gif or .bmp format) not more than 150 KB. 75% of the photograph must cover the candidate's face. Click on upload button to check your photo uploaded correctly or not. (Candidates with incorrectly filled photographs will be disqualified. )

 


Instructions for filling the form

  • On the login page, click on the Register to apply now link.
  • Read relevant details about the course and application from the home page links. Most importantly, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process and Reservation Guidelines.
  • Fill the Personal Academic and other details into User Registration Form.
  • Confirm Registration details by clicking on the Confirm button.
  • After you Login in, the first page that is displayed is "Application Locker". Click on NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY from the List of colleges.
  • Choose your application form and click on Apply Button.
  • Fill all details on the form for each of the sections. Incomplete forms will be summarily rejected.
  • Click Submit for saving all details and proceeding back to the Application Locker for making payment for all pending application forms.
  • In the Application Locker, under the Pending Applications area, choose your forms for which you wish to make payment and Click on Make Payment.
  • On the Make Payment Page, choose Mode of Payment and verify the Amount and Click on Proceed.

Eligibility

AILET Eligibility Criteria 2022: The AILET Eligibility Criteria 2022 is necessary for students to read before doing registration for the examination.

The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfil a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands cancelled or void.

  • The modified syllabus of AILET 2022 for B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) Programme is as follows:
  • The AILET 2022 for B.A.LL.B (Hons.) programme will have three (3) sections of 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks in total. The duration of the examination is 90 minutes.
  • The three sections will be:
    Section A: English Language (50 questions; 50 marks).
    Section B: Current Affairs & General Knowledge (30 questions; 30 marks).
    Section C: Logical Reasoning (70 questions; 70 marks).
    Legal principles may be used in the logical reasoning section to test candidates understanding and familiarity of legal reasoning, but the examination will not require any prior knowledge of law or technical understanding of legal principles/ legal terms.
  • Negative marking: There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2022-23. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark.
  • If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the section on LOGICAL REASONING in the AILET 2022.
  • If the merit is still same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If still there is no change in merit, then computerized draw of lots shall be taken into consideration.

The Score of AILET 2022 will also be used by some private universities and colleges for admissions into their 5 year Integrated Law courses after 12th or its equivalent.

Students must go through the Participating Colleges and their seat distribution before filling up their choices for admissions in the counselling procedure. The candidate has a clear idea about the chances of getting admissions through this entrance examination after reading about the participating colleges in detail.

The Participating Colleges in any Entrance Exam also reflect the importance of that examination in a great manner as more important the participating colleges in an examination the more important that entrance examination becomes.

So, students must go through the Participating Colleges while applying for any entrance examination and do a thorough research about the quality of those participating colleges in the entrance examination.

 

After the AILET Result is declared the admission counselling process for the B.A LLB course at NLU Delhi starts.

 

AILET Admit Card 2022:  The AILET Admit Card 2022 will be released online on 17th April, 2022 on the  AILET 2022 examination on the official website of NLU Delhi: www.nludelhi.ac.in .

The AILET Admit Card 2022 can be downloaded by following these steps:

  • Go to the official site of NLU Delhi: www.nludelhi.ac.in .
  • Login with your Application Number and Password or via other Login credentials.
  • Download the Admit Card
  • Take a Print out of the same to carry at the examination center on the AILET 2022 date.

The Admit Card is an important document and must be carefully kept by the candidates as it is necessary to produce at the Exam centre while appearing for the Entrance Examination and without the same the Candidate is not allowed to enter the exam hall to appear for the entrance examination.

 

The Admit Card usually contains the details of the Exam Centre, Personal Details of the Candidate like Registration Number and Date of Birth and other important information including the Instructions to be followed by the candidate at the exam centre before, after and during the Entrance Examination.

 

AILET Result 2022:  The AILET Result 2022 will be declared by NLU Delhi online on its official website : www.nludelhi.ac.in in the 3rd or 4th week of May, 2022 displaying the details of all the candidates appeared for the Examination including their Marks, All India Rank and Application Number etc.

The candidates can check their detailed results of AILET 2022 on their login and the NLU Delhi releases the AILET 2022 Merit List online in order of merit of All India Rank obtained in AILET 2022.

Based on the All India Rank as declared in the AILET Result 2022 the candidates will apply for the counselling procedure for admissions in the 5 year Integrated B.A LLB course offered at NLU Delhi.

After the AILET Result 2022 is declared the successful candidates can participate in the Admission Counselling procedure for NLU Delhi based upon AILET 2022.

Admission Counselling

AILET Counselling Procedure 2022:

The AILET Counselling Procedure 2022 will be carried out by NLU, Delhi or National Law University, Delhi on the basis of the AILET Result 2022.

There is a total of 123 seats in NLU Delhi in the B.A LLB course [113 Seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals & 5 seats for OCI/PIO)]. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have obtained 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

In the Counselling Procedure admissions are given to candidates on the basis of their All India Rank obtained in AILET 2022 and their category as per the reservation of seats decided for admissions.

The current Reservation Criteria for admissions in NLU Delhi is as follows: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 10% for EWS or Economic Weaker Sections and 5% for Persons with Disabilities. Note: One additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants. Two additional supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir.

The AILET Counselling Procedure 2022 is as follows:

  • After the AILET Result 2022 is declared, based on the result NLU Delhi invites shortlisted candidates for Admission Counselling in each category. The List of candidates invited for counselling is declared online on the NLU Delhi Official website: www.nludelhi.ac.in . Approximately three times the number of candidates corresponding to number of seats in each category will be invited for counselling
  • Step 2: Paying the Counselling Fee - Candidates shall login to their Application Locker, click on Pay Counselling Fees. On the following page, they have to upload applicable documents and enter their Class 12 total percentage of marks secured. - Then the candidate needs to Click on ‘Pay Now’. The candidate will be taken to the online payment gateway and will complete the transaction for counselling fee of ₹ 50000/-.
  • Step 3: Candidates selected for provisional admission will be then required to pay Balance fee of ₹70,500/- through online payment. They shall be issued Admission Slip.
  • The list of candidates who have been invited for registration for the online counselling will be uploaded on the University website in order of AILET marks. All such candidates are required to deposit their counselling fee within stipulated time period. They are also required to provide total percentage of marks secured by them in X and XII Classes in order to decide the inter-se merit of AILET 2022 if required.
  • The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination thereto securing in the aggregate not less than 50% of the total marks. However, the eligibility by such candidates shall have to be obtained by the cut-off date which will be notified along with the notification of Entrance Test result and in case such candidate placed in compartment in the year of the admission, would be treated as ineligible.
  • If two or more candidates get the same percentage of marks at the Entrance Test (AILET) their inter se-merit will be determined on the basis of % of marks in XII standard. NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY DELHI Sector – 14, Dwarka, New Delhi - 110078
  • If the inter-se merit is still same, then the marks of X standard will be taken into consideration.
  • If still there is no change in merit, then the candidate elder/higher in age shall get preference.
  • The University will issue a category wise provisional merit list of only those candidates who have successfully completed the counselling registration process and paid the counselling fee of ₹50000/- within stipulated time period. Registration for the counselling will not guarantee a seat.
  • If a candidate’s name is in the List of provisionally selected candidates, the candidate is required to pay the balance fee within stipulated time period failing which provisional admission offer will automatically stand cancelled & counselling fee paid will be forfeited. The balance fee shall be paid through the same portal/interface through the same login via which, candidates have participated in the counselling process. The University will also issue category wise waiting list of only those candidates who have participated in the counselling process. In case any vacancy arises due to withdrawal of admission or non-deposit of balance fee by the provisionally selected candidate within the stipulated time period, the seat shall be filled up from the waiting list candidates of concerned categories only.
  • NLU Delhi will not be responsible for any issues relating to payments. Candidate must wait till you see a ‘Payment Successful’ message & acknowledgement slip generated. Requests to make payments after the last date due to transaction failures or any other issues will not be considered.
  • The University will refund the counselling fee of only such candidates who have successfully registered for the counselling process and paid the counselling fee but due to higher cut off could not find a place in the provisional merit list of the respective categories for admission. The said refund will be initiated by the University on completion of the admission process.

After the AILET Counselling Procedure 2022 is completed the admission process at NLU Delhi completes and the announcement for the start of classes of New Session is released by NLU Delhi.
