Pharmacy has been in demand for many years and the demand keeps on increasing with the health standards and increasing medical advancements in the world. With a highly busy life people, health mostly gets neglected by the society for which the pharma companies do always come up with medicines of new kinds every now and then after much medical research.

Governing Body:  PCI or Pharmacy Council of India is the governing body that regulates pharmacy education in India.

Eligibility:  

Subject requirements: Any student having Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry, Biology as subject combinations in 10+2 or its equivalent is eligible.

Minimum Marks Requirement:  At least 50% in class 12th or equivalent, but in different colleges/universities and entrance examinations there are different minimum requirements for marks so please check the same before applying.

Age Limit:  For every college/university there are separate age limits.

Educational Qualification:  10+2 or equivalent.

Course:  Here we are going to talk about the B.Pharma course or Bachelor of Pharmacy Course that is a 4 years degree course offered at various Colleges/universities in India.

Although there is a D.Pharma after 10+2 or equivalent but that is a Diploma course of 2 years.

There is also a 6 years Integrated course of Pharma. D or Doctor of Pharmacy course provided by many colleges and universities in India that is a 6 years full-time course including 1 year of Internship.

Major Entrance Exams:

National Level Entrance Exams:

NEET:  The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test or NEET is conducted by the NTA for admissions in the MBBS, BDS and other allied medical and dental courses all over India.

The score of this examination is also used by some colleges and universities in India for admissions into their B.Pharma courses.

JEE Main (Paper 1): JEE Main or Joint Entrance Examination Main is conducted for admissions into the various Engineering and Science Undergraduate and Integrated courses offered by the NITs, IIITs, GFTIs etc. The score of this examination is used by many colleges and universities for their Engineering and Science admissions.

This exam score is also used by some universities/colleges in India for admissions into their B.Pharma courses also.

BITSAT: The Birla Institute of Technology & Science Admission Test or BITSAT is conducted by BITS, Pilani for admissions into its B.Pharma and various other undergraduate and integrated first-degree programmes at its three campuses namely Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad.

BITS Pilani is considered one of the finest institutions in the fields of Science and Technology in India so the B.Pharma course importance from here is very high.

MET:  The Manipal Entrance Test or MET is conducted by the Manipal University for its various undergraduate courses including the B.Pharma course.

Manipal University is one of the highest-rated private universities in India for various courses.
