Education:

Well at some point in time in School we all wanted to be teachers, to actually become one in real life. That's another level of happiness and joy.

To become a formal teacher in India earlier only Graduates could pursue a 2-year B.Ed or Bachelors in Education course, but now as per the latest changes made by the HRD ministry, there are 4 years integrated courses for students after 10+2 to be teachers after completing their 4-year Integrated education courses like BA. B.Ed, B.Com B.Ed and BSc.B.Ed.

Here we are providing information only about the courses that a student can pursue after 10+2 or its equivalent and not after graduation.

 

Governing Body:  The Governing body for the education courses in India is the NCTE or National Council for Teacher Education which is a statutory body that regulates Teacher Education in India.

So anyone who is here to seek information about the 2-year B.Ed course after Graduation are requested to find the same somewhere else.

Eligibility:

  • Subjects Requirement: For BSc. B.Ed courses - Candidates seeking admission to Physical Science Group must have passed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (M stands for Mathematics or Statistics) and those seeking admission to Biological Science Group (CBZ) must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) (B stands for Biology or Biotechnology) at +2 level.  

For the rest of the courses like BA. BEd. and B.Com B.Ed students from any stream are eligible for taking admission.

  • Education Qualification: Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognized by University/ Board.
  • Marks Requirement: 50% marks in aggregate of 10+2 or any equivalent qualifying examination (relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).

Major Entrance Examinations:

  • RIE CEE by NCERT: The Common Entrance Examination conducted for the admissions into the Regional Institutes of Education in the various Education courses including the Integrated B.Ed courses is the biggest entrance examination for Integrated B.Ed courses in India.

The examination is conducted by NCERT for admissions into the various B.Ed courses offered at its 6 centres also known as the Regional Institutes of Education or RIE.

  • TUEE: Tezpur University conducts the TUEE or Tezpur University Entrance Examination for admissions into various integrated courses including the Integrated B.Ed courses for admissions in its various departments including the department of education.

  • Maharashtra BA/B.Sc- BEd Integrated Common Entrance Test: The MAH B.A/B.Sc- BEd Integrated Common Entrance Test is conducted for admissions in the Integrated B.Ed courses like B.A B.Ed, B.Sc. B.Ed offered by various colleges in Maharashtra.
