Candidates are required to score the minimum qualifying marks to qualify for UCEED. Test takers who secure equal to or above the specified UCEED cutoff 2023 will be offered admission to the undergraduate design course. Candidates must keep in mind that the closing and the opening rank may be different for various participating institutes.

Undergraduate design candidates who qualified for UCEED 2024 will be allotted seats in the participating institutions based on their ranks, categories, and choice of institutions.

Students who have qualified for the UCEED 2024 examination and have opted for the seat allotment would be able to check the result on the official website, uceed.iitb.ac.in.

The selected candidates will be sent provisional allotment letters from the UCEED Office to their registered email addresses. Each candidate will receive the UCEED seat allotment letter by logging into the online admission portal. The letter would bear details such as the UCEED roll number, opening and closing ranks of institutions, category, and seat allotment result.

UCEED is a national-level exam conducted every year which is open to both national and foreign students. Seats will be allotted to qualifying candidates on the basis of their UCEED 2024 score.

Those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks will have to sit for the UCEED 2024 Counseling. The qualified candidates will have to report to the allocated centers along with the relevant documents for verification. On the basis of their UCEED score, students are offered admission to BDes program. The shortlisted candidates will get a professional allotment letter for admission. Candidates will be allotted admission based on the cutoff marks, rank list, filled choice, and category and seat intake.

UCEED Shortlisting Criteria 2024

IIT Bombay has made changes in UCEED 2024 shortlisting criteria. The exam conducting body has made changes in the formula used to calculate UCEED 2024 cutoff.

The new formula to calculate UCEED 2024 score is as mentioned here - The cut-offs (𝛿) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the Open category will be 𝜇 + (𝜎⁄2) = 𝛿, where 𝜇 and 𝜎 are the average marks and standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2024.

The 𝜇 and 𝜎 will be rounded off after the first decimal place. The candidates belonging to the reserved categories shall have to fulfill a relaxed cut-off mark. In the formula used, 𝛿 is the cut-off mark for Open category students. The formula to calculate UCEED cutoff for different reservation categories is mentioned below:

  • 0.9𝛿 for OBC-NCL
  • 0.9𝛿 for EWS
  • 0.5𝛿 for SC/ST
  • 0.5𝛿 for PwD

UCEED Cut off 2023:

The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2023) are 57.63 and 24.52, respectively.

UCEED Cut Off 2022:

The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2022) is 69.54 and 31.02 respectively.

Therefore UCEED Cutoff for Part A is as follows:

Open: 85.05

OBC-NCL and EWS: 76.5

SC,ST and PWD: 42.5

The same for 2023 will be out once the UCEED Results are declared.
