Here are the excerpts from the Interview:

Harshita: Congratulations Soyeb on achieving this feat, During the preparation, did NEET AIR 1 & scoring 720/720 marks ever came across your mind?

Soyeb: No, I never thought that I will achieve Air 1 in NEET and score 720/720 marks. I was expecting that I would be able to secure a rank in the top 100 because I was scoring well in the mock test of my coaching institute. Even after appearing NEET, I thought that I would manage around 690 to 700.

Harshita: Did the COVID pandemic affect your exam preparation in any way? How did you manage your study during the lockdown?

Soyeb: No COVID pandemic did not affect my exam preparation as I chose to stay in Kota and my decision paid off well, it helped me a lot in my neet exam preparation as I was able to put up 10 to 12 hours every day. COVID pandemic helped me to manage my studies nicely

Harshita: After accomplishing such a great achievement of having AIR I in NEET  examination & getting admission into AIIMS, what next big things you dream to achieve in your life?

Soyeb: After getting AIR 1 in neet and getting admission in AIIMS my goal is to become a cardiologist, I also want to be involved in research projects AIIMS.

Harshita: What motivated you to choose medicine as a career? When did you decide to become a doctor?

Soyeb: When I was younger I want to become a software engineer because I thought that robots will replace human doctors for treatment but growing up when I was in 9th class I realized that I was wrong and such a thing is not happening in the near future, so I decided to be a doctor.

Harshita: Was this your first attempt at NEET? When did you start preparing for the entrance exam and what strategies you used in particular for your preparation?

Soyeb: Yes, this was my first attempt in neet. I started neet preparation in 2018 in Allen Institute, Kota in 11th standard. My strategy was to cover all tasks & assignments that were given by coaching and then I used to study that topic from NCERT.

Harshita: Choosing the right Books and Preparation material has always been a concern for many students preparing for NEET.  So according to you which are some of the best books for preparation that you recommend for NEET 2021 for each of the 3 sections and overall preparation?

Soyeb: NCERT is best for all the 3 sections, apart from this I used to follow coaching modules, followed HC Verma for physics concepts, N Awasthi for physical chemistry practice & ms Chouhan for organic chemistry practice.

Harshita: What advice would you like to give the future NEET aspirants & share with us the strategies you used to stay motivated in your exam days.

Soyeb: I want to say to the future neet aspirants to work hard and keep studying consistently & not be distracted or disheartened by any hurdles or obstacles they face, if you work hard you will surely achieve your goal. Never put emphasis on how many hours you study but on how much you can study in one hour.

Harshita: What is the ideal time to start taking mock Tests & What role do mock tests play in NEET Preparation? What were your strategies in particular towards mock tests?

Soyeb: Mock tests of topics you complete must be taken right from the start of your preparation and initially one mock test a month is good but in the last few months if you are scoring well then you must attempt 1 mock test every 3 to 4 days.

I hope the above Interview helps the future NEET aspirants and help them perform well in the upcoming NEET examination.

All the Best!
