DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2021: The DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2021 is necessary for students to read before doing registration for the examination.

The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfill a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands canceled or void.

The DU JAT Eligibility Criteria 2021 in detail are as follows:

  • Candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in class 12th or equivalent from any recognized board in four subjects: English, Mathematics and any two other subjects included in List B
  • Selection will be based on the rank computed from the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the entrance test (DU JAT) and the percentage scored in the qualifying examination where the weights are:

 

  • Entrance Test: 65%,
  • Qualifying Examination:35%

B.Tech. (Information Technology and Mathematical Innovation)

  • Candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in class 12th or equivalent from any recognized board in four subjects including mathematics as compulsory.
  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the entrance test.

B.A. Hons. (Humanities and Social Sciences)

  • Candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in class 12th or equivalent from any recognized board in four subjects in the qualifying examination
  • Selection/ Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the entrance test.

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

  • An aggregate of 50% or more marks in the qualifying examination, and with a minimum of 50% marks in each of the “Best Four” subjects. The Best Four subjects may include:
  • One subject from English/Hindi (core or elective) and three other subjects from the following: any one language (offered by CBSE or its equivalent board at 10+2 level); Biology; Physics; Chemistry; Mathematics; Economics; History; Political Science; Geography; Sociology; Philosophy; Psychology; Business Studies/Accountancy

  • One subject from English/Hindi (Core or Elective), two other subjects from any one language (other than that chosen in list I, offered by CBSE or its equivalent board at 10+2 level); Biology; Physics; Chemistry; Mathematics; Economics; History; Political Science; Geography; Sociology; Philosophy; Psychology; Business Studies/Accountancy and Any other subject (other than those mentioned above) in class XII offered by CBSE or its equivalent board.
  • Not more than two languages (whether core or elective) will be considered for the purpose of eligibility for “Best Four” subjects together.
  • For the purpose of eligibility not more than two subjects will be considered from the following: Commerce, Business Studies, Accountancy, Informatics Practice and Computer Application.
  • In addition the applicant must have studied and passed English/ Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Science till class Xth
  • Selection/Admission will be done according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the marks secured in the Entrance Test.

Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Multimedia and Mass Communication

  • An aggregate of 75% or more marks in the “Best Four” (including 85% or more in English) in the qualifying examination.
  • Mass Media Studies may be included as an academic subject for calculation of “Best Four”.

Five Year Integrated Course in Journalism

  • Candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in class 12th or equivalent from any recognized board in all five subjects in the qualifying examination

 

B.A. (Hons.) in Hindustani Music: Vocal/ Instrumental (Sitar/ Sarod/ Guitar/ Violin/ Santoor);

 

B.A. (Hons.) in Karnatak Music- Vocal/ Instrumental (Veena/ Violin)

  • An aggregate of 45% or more marks in the qualifying examination including one language from List A and two elective subjects from List B in addition to Music.

As per DU JAT Exam Pattern, the selection exam is conducted in online mode. The DU JAT Exam is conducted tentatively in the month of June or July. But due to the Covid-19 Pandemic this could be delayed further.

There are a total of 100 questions asked in the exam and from each section 25 questions will be asked. The time duration of the exam is 2 hours.

DU JAT Marking Scheme

The DU JAT Question paper is conducted for a total of 400 marks. There are a total of 100 questions in the exam and from each section 25 questions will be asked. Each question carries equal marks in all the sections.
