Here are the excerpts from the Interview :

Harshita: Congratulations Kavya  on achieving this huge feat. How did you react after being first female topper in  JEE Advanced 2021 secured AIR 98 ?

Kavya: Thank you, I was elated and simultaneously relieved that the results didn't follow the 2017 model this time

Harshita: You scored 286/360 marks in the JEE Advanced Paper, which is quite impressive marks  in JEE Advanced exam. What was your preparation strategy?

Kavya: I simply followed all the material given by my coaching, Allen, with due diligence.

Harshita: You excelled in both JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. What was the difference between your approaches for both these exams?

Kavya: JEE Advanced focuses more on the depths of concepts, whereas JEE Mains requires more of theoretical knowledge. So I prepared accordingly for both.

Harshita: In the JEE Advanced Paper, which sections were easy or difficult for you? How did you overcome what you found difficult?

Kavya: I found the maths section to be particularly hard, and the physics section to be easier. Unfortunately, I blanked out in the first paper for some time, and as a result did many silly mistakes which could have been easily avoided. Fortunately, I was able to pull through with a much better score in Paper-2

Harshita: What is the ideal time to start taking mock Tests & What role do mock tests play in JEE Advanced Preparation? What was your strategies in particular towards mock tests?

Kavya: I believe you can start giving mock tests after your syllabus is completed, and simultaneously, you'll learn what your weak areas are and you can start revising accordingly.

Harshita: You are a huge inspiration to JEE Main and Advanced aspirants. Would you like to give some useful tips or advice?

Kavya: I believe if you're able to complete your work with sincerity and dedication, and if you believe in yourself, you'll surely get a good rank in both the examinations!

Kavya had scored 99.978 percentile in the February session and a perfect 300 marks in the March sessions of JEE Main 2021. She is the first girl to score 300/ 300 marks in the Main exam.
