The Eligibility Criteria is important for any examination because even if a candidate does not fulfill a single criterion of the eligibility criteria declared for the examination then the candidate is not allowed to appear for the examination or even after appearing for the examination and clearing the same the admission through the examination stands canceled or void.

The JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2021 in detail are as follows: 

Age Limit

There is no age limit for candidates.

Qualification

The candidate must have passed the 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized board in 2019, 2020 or appearing in 2021 is eligible to apply for JEE Main 2021.

Number of Attempts

Candidates are eligible to attempt this exam for 3 consecutive years.

Minimum Marks Required

At least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class / Qualifying examination conducted by the respective Boards.

For SC/ST, marks relaxation is 65% in 12th class from any recognized board

 

The JEE Main Exam Pattern is important to read for every student who wishes to appear for it. The JEE Main Exam Pattern gives a clear idea to the student about the type of questions, exam duration exam language, and various other important details about the examination. It also helps in the planning of preparation for the examination and successfully clearing the same.

The JEE Main 2021 or Joint Entrance Examination Main 2021 is conducted online by the NTA or National Testing Agency in Four Sessions in February, March, April, and May respectively. The Examination will be used as a selection criterion for appearing in the JEE Advanced 2021 for admissions into the IITs and JEE Main 2021 will also serve as the Entrance examination for admissions into the various Engineering, Architecture, and Science courses after 10+2 or its equivalent in the NITs or National Institutes of Technology, IIITs or Indian Institutes of Information Technology and CFTIs/GFTIs or Centrally Funded Technical Institutes/Government Funded Technical Institutes.
