Here are the excerpts from the Interview:
Harshita : Congratulations Rishabh on achieving this feat, During the preparation did CLAT AIR 1 ever came across your mind?
Rishabh: It did come to my mind (obviously it was just a dream during my preparation days but in the end I was confident that if everything goes well, it’s a possibility)
Harshita : There are different fields after 12th, what motivated you to make a career in law?
Rishabh: I am really into debating, MUNs etc and that led me towards reading about the law and gaining an interest in it.
Harshita: Was this your first attempt at CLAT? When did you start preparing for the law entrance exams and what strategies you used in particular for your preparation?
Rishabh: this was my first attempt at CLAT (I did take the 2021 paper for practice though)
• I started preparing from October 2020
• As for strategies, I was just consistent with my mock tests and my GK prep. I gave a lot of mock tests so that exposed me to a lot of variety which ultimately helped in the actual paper
Harshita :Choosing the right Books and Preparation material have always been a concern for many students preparing for CLAT. So according to you which are some of the best books for preparation that you recommend for CLAT 2022 for each of the 5 sections and overall?
Rishabh: I think that the coaching material is sufficient and aspirants don’t need to buy any other books. Mock tests are the best prep material for clat in my opinion
Harshita: What advice would you like to give the future CLAT aspirants & share with us the strategies you used to stay motivated in your exam days.
Rishabh: I would advice the 2023 and 2024 CLAT takers to be ready for the unexpected because every year there is a surprise element in the paper
• Try to improve the basic skills such as speed, comprehension etc so that whatever may be asked, one is able to tackle that
• Do not get disheartened by your mock scores as they aren’t a reflection of your competency and your actual CLAT score
Harshita: What is the ideal time to start taking mock Tests & What role do mock tests play in CLAT Preparation? What was your strategies in particular towards mock tests?
Rishabh: I think mock tests should be started from the first week itself because there is no set syllabus for clat (its just an aptitude based paper)
• I didn’t have any specific strategy towards mock tests but I did try different sequences of attempting the paper so that I get to know what’s best for me so that I can optimize
